How solar energy works
- Solar modules: DC Electricity is generated by solar panels installed on the roof.
- Hybrid inverter: Electricity is converted into alternating current and connected to the house's existing electrical panel.
- Power grid: The system operates in parallel with the grid, which means that energy is drawn from both solar energy and the grid. At night, electricity is imported from the grid and, during the day, from solar energy. If solar power cannot supply all the energy required, the balance is imported from the grid. If the sun is shining and little or no electricity is needed, surplus electricity can be exported to the grid. the grid for a credit, stored in batteries for later use or diverted to EV Car charging or Hot Water cylinders.
- Household appliances: Electricity for household appliances comes either from the sun or from the grid. Appliances and their use can be optimized for greater savings, for example by doing laundry or heating water when there's a lot of sun.
- Battery storage: Lithium batteries can be used to store excess solar energy for use at night, further reducing dependence on the electricity grid.
